Dinner Tonight, 3-20-11, Pleasant Pork Chops

dinner 3-20-11

I’m laughing at the bad picture – the pork is the small white chunk at the bottom right. White food on white plate with amateur photo taker = really lame photo.

This pork chop recipe is adapted from here, I love  The sauce is just like a stroganoff, but the whole thing took about 30 minutes.

3 T butter

1 clove garlic, smashed

1 onion, diced (I used a handful of dried, chopped onion (from costco)

Melt butter in a large pan and cook the garlic and onion until soft.

Add up to 6 pork chops and brown on each side.

Add 3/4 cup chicken broth.  Cover and cook on low until meat is cooked through and juices are cooked down by about half.

When the meat is done, take it from the pan and add 1 cup sour cream. Mix the sauce together and spoon over the meat.

*This would be excellent over wide egg noodles

*Original recipe called for 2 teaspoons paprika to be added with the sour cream and I just totally forgot. I really want to try that next time.  Yum.

*If I was doing 6 pork chops I’d double the sauce.

Grilled Honey Mustard Pork Chops

4 pork chops (1″ thick, about 1 lb)

1/4 cup honey

2 T Dijon

1 T orange juice

1 t cider vinegar

1/2 t Worcestershire sauce

dash of onion powder
Remove fat from pork and mix the rest of the ingredients.  You can marinate the pork in the sauce for a few hours or just use the sauce to brush on the pork chops while you’re grilling them.
