Baked Ziti

You will tell from the recipe that it’s so important to follow the ingredient list exactly.  Yeah, not.  Ziti is awesome.   Throw a bunch of stuff in a pan and cook it until the cheese is melted and everything’s warm.  Perfect for winter, taking to friends, and freezing (freeze before baking for best results).

Cooked ziti (tube shaped pasta) (4-6 cups)
A jar of pasta sauce (28ish ounces)  or 3-4ish cups basic red sauce
8 ounces of ricotta (optional but it makes it creamy and extra delicious!)
meat (optional, up to 1# cooked – sausage, ground beef, ground turkey)
1 cup onion, chopped (optional)
1 1/2 cups (or so) mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup-ish grated Parm cheese

If you’re adding meat and onion, cook it up well, and drain.  Throw it in a bowl with everything but the parmesean cheese to combine well. Put it in a square pan, add the parm cheese and maybe some extra mozz on top and cook at 350 until warmed through – about 30 minutes.
